APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Surgery Appointments, The practices appointment system is designed to offer you the most appropriate appointment for your need. We will at all times try to accommodate your requirements, but we cannot guarantee that a paticular GP or nurse will be avalible on any paticular day, if you require an urgent appointment you may be seen by the Duty Doctor or the Nurse practitioner as appropriate, you may be asked to briefly describe your symptoms in order to get you to the right clincian.
Acute Appointments, Will be with the Duty Doctor or the Nurse Practitioner. You will not be able to choose which Doctor you see for these Urgent appointments. If you need to see a Doctor urgently you will always be seen that day, but you may have to wait to be seen due to number of people waiting for an emergency appointment. If your condition requires urgent assessment that will be arranged according to clinical need.
Routine Appointments , Will usually be offered for the following 2 days. If you have a more urgent need to see a Doctor you must inform the reception when calling.
Pre-Booked Appointments, All Patients will be able to pre-book appointments up to six weeks in advance. These appointments will be for medication reviews, follow-up appointments and other non–urgent planned reasons.
The Nurse Practitioner has undertaken specialist training to be able to assess and diagnose Acute New presenting problems, such as minor illnesses, minor infections and minor injuries. This is done through a process of obtaining relevant history, physical examination and where necessary initiating further investigations.
Where appropriate those Patients who request an Acute appointment may be seen by the Nurse Practitioner.
If you wish to speak to a Practice Nurse we will try to accommodate your request but may ask you some questions to determine the urgency/or nature of the call. In all cases a nurse will contact you during surgery times. The Practice Nurses cannot offer travel vaccination advice over the telephone.
Telephone Advice
If you wish to speak to a Doctor at the Practice you will be offered a telephone consultation where a doctor will ring you back during or after surgery times. This telephone request cannot be given a guaranteed time.
Cancellations
Please inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend an appointment, this will allow us to utilise these appointments for the benefit of other patients. If a patient repeatedly does not attend they may be excluded from the Practice list and asked to find another surgery.
Chaperones
The Practice is committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that best practice is being followed at all times. You are entitled to have a Chaperone present during your examination, a number of our staff have been trained to undertake this role should you require one.
